For the first time, the leader in LED light effects American DJ took part in Music Moscow exhibition in Moscow, Russia, represented by official dealer Yarovit. Read here how Jos Reulen, Export Manager for ADJ Europe, assesses possibilities and opportunities for the DJ equipment industry in Russia.
Q: Hello Jos, thanks for your time and that you give us a short overview of the situation as to how the DJ industry is evaluating the Russian market.
JR: You´re welcome!
Q: Jos, please describe, what is the situation right now? What is the typical working situation for a DJ in Russia? Must he be resident in a club? Is it also popular to work as a mobile DJ or wedding DJ?
JR: DJs in Russia work as light-, sound- and video-DJ’s. They are basically “all-round DJ’s”.
Q: How does a DJ get his equipment? Does he have access to professional suppliers? Where to buy?
JR: ADJ has a huge amount of sales representatives throughout Russia. This allows us to meet all customer needs.
Q: Are there any differences between Russian DJs and others, for example in Central Europe or in the US? Do they have different preferences or demands for example regarding the equipment?
JR: Russian DJ's want the best equipment only!
Q: Does a strong DJ community exist there? Are they networking?
JR: Most are organized as in Europe or the USA, using social networks and the web in general. They communicate also in blogs. Check out these sites:

Q: What are the main topics and arguments ADJ is able to present the Russian DJ market?
JR: In my opinion, this is the optimum price-quality ratio we can offer. We have the opportunity to ensure product availability through a wide dealer network and excellent after-sales service.
Q: Does ADJ have dealers and distributors in Russia?
JR: Yes, are well represented in Russia with 3 distributors.
Q: What is the outlook for the future? What kind of plans does ADJ have for Russian the next time?
JR: My personal target is to have our products available in every DJ store worldwide. That also includes Russia. We are planning to boost sales in the coming year so that we have a well-established and strong foundation in the Russian market.
